I am Marisa Dolan, an artist, designer, and storyteller in Portland, Oregon. I create modern and playful art for fun, design-loving people and spend my days in the studio dreaming up designs for both my clients and my shop. I am passionate about good design, vibrant color palettes, and telling visual stories.

I am a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, where I began my art studies with a fine arts foundation, continuing on to a degree in industrial design. From there, my career began working as a toy designer at Fisher-Price and Mattel. This unique combination of my fine arts studies paired with the discipline of product design gives me the skills, understanding, and ability to bring my art to life on a variety of projects.

After several years of working as an in-house designer, I decided to venture out on my own and started my design business offering services including visual brand identity, Illustration, and of course, product design. I also established my shop featuring collections of modern, fun, and irresistible greeting cards, gift wrap, and more.

As an artist and designer, I have developed a style of simple forms with a playful twist, and enjoy the sensibilities of clean, modern design. I love bold colors and vibrant patterns, and both typography and hand-lettering will often find their way into my work. I am inspired by the juicy, pop-art graphics of the '70s & ’80s and am energized by both the nature and city that surrounds me. I try to infuse joy and fun into my work whenever I can and hope that when someone sees my work they can’t help but smile, possibly have a little laugh, and maybe even feel a connection to it in some way.
